I pulled Heiwa to her feet and yelled,
"Get us out of here!" The Dawn moved less than gracefully above the satellite. The satellite armed its turrets and began firing at us. "We need to go faster!" I shouted. The ship shook and brought me to my knee. "What was that?!"
"One of our thrusters have been destroyed," a crewman replied.
"Jump to the Korhol Quadrant," Heiwa shouted. Everyone turned and looked at her, "I know what I'm doing, look just do it!" she said. Everyone then looked to me for the answer. I paused for a moment and then said,
"You heard the woman! Set the coordinates!" Everyone then got stared getting to work. Stev walked up to me and asked,
"Iuilus... Are you sure that an Imperial class frigate will be welcome there? I mean The Sons of Korhol still harass our fleets, and raid satellites." Stev leaned close to my ear and said, "How do we know that they won't destroy us on sight." and to be honest I didn't have a straight answer, but all I said was,
"We just have to wing it," I pointed at Heiwa, "In the meantime she has vital intel, tell her to see me in the conference room in five." Stev nods and leads off Heiwa to the elevator. I then turned to ask Alice something, but she already knew.
"Don't worry Iuilus," she reassured, "I'll take care of Talia and Evergreen" Alice patted me on the hand and walked to the living quarters.
After escaping into warp, I went to the conference room to check on Heiwa. When I got in there I was a little surprised to see that Talia had made her way there, I look at Talia confused. She just shrugged and said,
"Alice rolls over pretty easily when you flash a plasma fueled whip at her," she started waving the whip around, pretending that she was cracking it.
"Where did she?" I looked at Stev. She guiltily said,
"Well she asked politely, and I thought she needed to be able to defend herself." I shook my head and said,
"Well as long as Evergreen isn't here," I turn to Heiwa, "Okay, Heiwa what do you have for me." She rubbed her neck and opened up a computer. She logged on a Korholian website and showed us a video of a drifting ring.
"I did an analysis on the ring, and the technology did not match any of the known species, not even Tralon." Heiwa than zoomed in on the video and showed us the smooth detail of the ring and it's moving components. "I've compared it to the tech of the monsters you already sent me, but the only thing I could trace it to was the Cadaver species.
"So we should investigate this?" Stev interjected. "This ring?"
"Yes, right away in fact. The Beastiles of Korhol have been going crazy about this thing. They said that it appeared about two days ago. Other than that here are the last known coordinates." Heiwa hands the paper to me.
"I'll get this to the navigators." I leave the room.
(several hours later)
I've been directing the crew to avoid imperial cruisers for sometime now. No doubt we're enemies of the state by now. We are approaching the outer rim now, I turn to an operator,
"Power down the weapons, we don't mean them any harm."
"But what if they mean us harm?" a crewman asked.
"Than divert the power to shields, we'll be fine," I replied. We crossed into the outer rims' graveyard, it was the remnants of battle cruisers and frigates from the civil war. Talia pats me on the shoulder
"Iuilus?" she asked "What is all of this?" I looked back at Talia and said,
"This is where one of the biggest space battles ever recorded, many marines and ships were lost," a helmet hits the wind shield. "Yeah, even our armor remains." Half way through the debris field three freighters snuck up on us. They were firing low grade plasma turrets but it still brought our shields down to 36%.
"Fire the Mac guns!" I commanded. One of the ships were then tore in half, followed by a "yeeeeehaw!" the remaining two freighters then fled out into the void of space.
"What was that?" Talia asked a little shaken.
"Probably just a few bandits trying to pick off Imperial ships." I replied "The Sons of Korhol hold a serious grudge against The Republic," Talia nodded nervously,
"Well I hope we don't have to stay to long...
